Winter Warmer Recipe: White Hot Chocolate

I’ve only recently discovered the phenomenon that is white hot chocolate and, having been introduced to it by Costa, am not ashamed to say that I’m now addicted to it. I love a hot drink, particularly in the winter and this one feels particularly christmassy (maybe because it’s white?). The problem is that Costa isn’t cheap and it’s not on my doorstep so the only solution is to make my own.

Ingredients:
100g white chocolate
1 glass and a half of milk
Half a tsp vanilla essence

Topping:
Whipped cream
Mini marshmallows

1. Break the chocolate into pieces. For a richer flavour you can increase the amount of chocolate.

2. Put all the ingredients into a saucepan on a medium heat stirring occassionally until all melted together. When it starts to simmer remove from the heat and pour into the glasses.

3. Top with whatever you like, I used squirty cream and mini marshmallows. You can also spice it up with extra flavours like cinnamon or give it a kick with a liqueur like Baileys or Amaretto.

Now you can sit back and warm your cockles with a luxuriously indulgent treat that’s cheaper than in a coffee shop. Enjoy!
